Happy Thanksgiving!!

This has been one crazy year but I couldn't be happier with how everything has turned out for Josh for and I so far.

I'm very thankful for many things this year, but mostly I'm so thankful and grateful to all my wonderful hubby, my friends, and family. They have been so supportive through this huge change in my life and I would be lost without them.

....

This is a great week so far, Josh and I only had two days of class/work, and we were able to get out of town to visit friends and family. It's the first time we have been back to Grand Rapids, and I'm surprised on how much I've missed it. Seeing familiar faces and places are such a comforting feeling and it makes the holiday season even better.

Not much else has been happening these last two weeks... Pretty much just working and doing "education training" for work.

Have a great thanksgiving everyone!

Random Thoughts

I remember a conversation Josh and I had one day - we were only 16 or 17 years old. We were talking about when we would be able to get married and were being so practical about the whole thing.  "We could wait until after college, so we could save money, and then you could go to med school." (something along those lines)

Not many 17 year olds have such an accurate out look on the future. Although not everything has gone according to "the plan", but it seems so crazy to be sitting here in that scenario right now. Somehow knowing when we were 17,  we would be here- and life would be great.  Pretty cool :)

on a different note; I forgot to show everyone my cool new outfit...

The med schools new hoodie/pants combo. I love it because... its warm, comfortable and when I go somewhere in the hoodie, people think I'm in med school and it makes me feel smart! haha ;)

anywho, I have a very messy kitchen to clean up and a wii fit that is calling my name!

Although slack off week has come to an end; I can enjoy our memories we've made this week and look forward to next month's Christmas break!

1. Josh passing his exams! woohoo!
2. Drinks with friends
3. being able to relax at home
4. Connect Pot luck dinner/drinks (Connect is the med-school spouse group)
5. saturday date night (pizza, beer and a movie - my kind of date)

Over all A+! And I didn't even have to work that much so it made it even better.

Of course, Med school man still studied.  But, that's good. He was able to prepare for the week ahead and I was able to get our 5 loads of laundry done - apparently I was busy last week.

Other than that, life is pretty normal around here, and the storm I was worried about hasn't hit yet. So I can't complain :)

Health Care

I always knew that I wanted to help people. Help people organize, help care for people, help clean their homes, mow their lawns. I loved knowing that I could do something for someone if they weren't able to do it for themselves. I'm sure that's why I love the elderly (and they're just so darn cute... well, most of the time :)

I have been working with the elderly since I was 19, and even when I have left to do something else, I always seem to come right back to it. Elderly people are so fascinating and if you have the time and patients to really listen to what they have to say, they usually have a pretty cool history.

-It's nights like this that I have to remind myself why I am doing what I'm doing. I am currently on my break at work and there must be something in the water tonight. Everyone is absolutely crazy. It could also be that I have had a head ache for four days straight and haven't had a full day off in more days that I can remember... So, my patients is thin and no matter what, they will not move faster if you try and make them.

Anyways...
enough of all that. My med school man has all his tests tomorrow and I know he is going to kill it! That also means.. *Drum roll please*.. that we have slack off week!!! woohoo!! We actually have things planned outside of work, the library, and our apartment. I could not be more excited.

Well, my break is almost over... back to the crazies! ;)

p.s. Good luck to all the med school students, I know you guys will do great!

Calm before the storm...?

I was just telling Josh last night that October was a pretty chill month. I saw him almost every night for dinner (if i wasn't working),we were able to slip away to midlnd for two nights and things just seemed less hectic.

So I'm thinking, we are just getting acclimated to our busy schedules... or this a calm before a very stormy november. Hopefully it's the first one, and then either way we will be able to tackle a busy nov, and dec.. The holidays are coming, right?

Not much else to say... All I've been doing is working. Anyone else trying to balance two jobs? Most days I'm fine, but I'm not sure how long this will last.
